Warm sheltered position in full sun and a very well drained soil. Easy to grow. Non-invasive. May sometimes be perennial in mild climates.
From seed sown in early spring at 21 to 27°Ct. Soaking the seed for 2 hours in cold water before sowing helps germination, which usually takes 5 to 14 days. Transplant when seedlings are large enough to handle. Can also be sown in-situ in late spring.
Excellent ground cover in sunny borders and also good for containers.
Seeds are very poisonous.
