description:
Medium sized evergreen shrub with downy white shoots and ovate, leathery, bronze-tinged green leaves that turn chocolatey brown in winter. Small yellow flowers in late spring, followed by red berries.

cultivation:
Full sun and well drained soil. Needs a fairly mild location or a position sheltered from hard frosts.
Can be trimmed and used for hedging or even topiary.


propagation:
From semi-ripe cuttings in summer or hardwood cuttings in autumn. They are best taken with a heel.
