Evergreen blue-green pinnate leaves. Loose racemes of bright yellow flowers with green markings at the tips. Forms a fleshy tap-root.

Well drained, poor gravelly soil, or will grow in stonework gaps. Best with some shade. Dislikes excessive winter wet.

Alpine house, scree gardens or planting in crevices in stone walls.
