description:
Sprays of large flowers, apricot orange fading to peachy-pink, borne on dark stems in July and August. Narrow, sword-shaped leaves.

cultivation:
Grow in reasonably fertile, humus-rich well-drained soil. In cold areas, plant in a protected location. Cut back foliage as it discolours. Divide every five to six years. Mulch in autumn. Top dress with bonemeal or proprietary bulb fertiliser in spring.

propagation:
By division of corms from established clumps, in early spring.
