description:
Small, very beautiful, autumn flowering bulb. Linear leaves with a silvery central stripe. Strongly scented, lilac or white flowers with golden yellow throats and conspicuous orange-red stamens.

cultivation:
Full sun and gritty poor to moderately fertile, sharply drained soil. Keep fairly dry during the dormant period in summer. May be grown in containers and kept in a cool alpine house.

propagation:
From seed or by bulb offsets.
