description:
Small, single, very dark, velvety maroon red flowers with golden yellow stamens, borne on wiry maroon stems. Dark green leaves with a bronzy flush. Attractive and distinctive variety.

cultivation:
Moist, but well drained, fertile medium to heavy loam, preferably neutral or very slightly acid. Sunny position. In cool areas, lift tubers in late autumn and overwinter in a frost-free place.
Deadhead regularly to extend flowering.

propagation:
By division of tubers or from cuttings.
