Evergreen shrub with small leathery, linear-lanceolate pointed leaves. Panicles of small creamy white, scented flowers in summer followed by fleshy red fruits up to 8mm in diameter.
Well drained, poorish soil in full sun or light shade. Resents disturbance once established.
From seed or cuttings.
Native to the Mediterranean area, include Sardinia and teh Balearic Islands. Commonly found in garriques and other rocky scrubland areas.
