Small deciduous shrub, low spreading habit with arching branches and green leaves, turning purple-red in autumn. Abundant clusters of star-shaped white flowers in late spring or early summer.
Sun or partial shade in any well-drained soil. Grows well on chalky soils.

Was originally considered a variety of Deutzia crenata, but later found to be a variant of Deutzia gracilis.
