Small, suckering, thicket forming, deciduous shrub. Tapering, ovate-lance shaped leaves, bronze tinted when young. Clusters of sulphur yellow flowers in summer.
Fertile, humus-rich, well drained soil in full sun or part shade. Tolerates dry and poor soils.
From softwood cuttings in summer or by separating rooted suckers in winter.
Shrub borders and lightly wooded gardens.
Native of the southeastern USA.
