Short-lived perennial or sometimes biennial. Clump forming with bold basal rosettes of finely toothed, prominently veined mid green leaves. Spikes of pale yellow flowers with brown markings inside, in early to mid summer.
Any reasonable, well drained, humus-rich soil in sun or part shade.
From seed. Will usually self-seed.
Distrubuted in the wild from Southern Europe to Siberia.
