Half hardy, compact, short-growing perennial. Clusters of primrose-yellow flowers, opening from dark brown buds in spring and early summer. Slightly scented. Evergreen or semi-evergreen with narrow, dark green leaves.
Well drained, preferably alkaline, soil in full sun. Will thrive in poor soils. Keep moist until established. Often short-lived and needs a mild location or protection to over-winter.
