description:
Compact, rounded evergreen sub-shrub with attractive velvety looking, glaucous blue-green foliage. The leaves are arranged in whorls on the stems, are shorter and more rounded than most other forms and covered with minute silvery hairs. Dense heads of green and dark purple-brown flowers in spring.
Sometimes produces small plantlets at the end of flowering stems.

cultivation:
Light, well drained soil in full sun. Thrives in dry conditions. Not quite as hardy as other cultivars.
