Clump forming with erect pale green stems and bright green, elliptic to lance-shaped leaves up to 6cm long, turning yellow and orange in autumn. Terminal cymes of long lasting, deep greenish yellow flowers in late spring. Robust growing and deep rooting.
Moist to boggy soil in full sun.
Widely distributed in the wild, from Spain to Siberia.
