Vigorous, upright, evergreen or semi-green shrub. The lobed green leaves and stems are covered with tiny hairs which can cause considerable irritation. Yellow flowers are freely borne from late spring to mid autumn.

Grows best in poor, well drained, even dry, soil in full sun. Can be effectively trained against a sunny wall or fence and will then tolerate lower than usual temperatures, down to -15°C for short periods.
Can be short-lived in cool areas, sometimes dying suddenly for no apparent reason.

other notes:
Skin and eye irritant.
