Evergreen shrub or sometimes in the wild, a small tree, most often seen cultivated as a pot plant. Glossy deep green leaves usually arranged in whorls of 3. Beautiful, strongly fragrant, ivory white single or double flowers, up to 8cm across, in summer and autumn.
Fertile, humus-rich, well drained, lime-free soil in partial shade. Needs consistently warm temperatures and humidity, best grown under glass in temperate areas.
