Forming mats of lobed and prominently veined foliage which colours well in autumn. Violet to deep blue flowers with a hint of reddish-pink and white centres, produced as a main flush in early summer and then sporadically until early autumn.

Moderately fertile, well drained soil in sun or part shade. Cut back after flowering to encourage new growth and sometimes repeat flowering.

Effective ground cover even in full shade.
