description:
Large, robust short-lived perennial, sometimes behaving as a biennial. Short erect stems carry rosettes of lobed, deeply divided leaves up to 60cm long with reddish-brown stalks. Showy clusters of many small flowers held on hairy stalks from late winter to late summer, pink with paler pink veins and magenta centres. Very dramatic.

cultivation:
Not fully frost hardy but will thrive in mild temperate areas. Moderately fertile, well drained soil in sun or part shade.
