description:
Slowly spreading clumps of rich green, hairy, irregularly-lobed pinnate leaves very large terminal leaflets. Brick-red flowers with conspicuous yellow stamens, on long, branching, wiry stems during the summer. Fluffy seed heads follow.

Fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Does not like waterlogged soil during the winter.

propagation:
By division in autumn or spring.

The appears to be much confusion over naming, but Geum x borisii' may be a synonym for this species, but Geum 'Borisii' now seems to be regarded as a cutivar of it.
