Australian evergreen shrub with long, narrowly linear dark green leaflets. Attractive spider-like red, pink and orange flowers. Flowers from late winter in the northern hemisphere, and sporadically later on.
Best in full sun or light part shade and well-drained, poorish, neutral to acid soil. Needs a sheltered position in cool climates, with protection from hard frosts. Do not use fertilizer.
Native to New South Wales, Australia.
Named after Lawrence A.S. Johnson, who was Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney up to 1985.
