Large, spreading shrub. Large deep green leaves with brilliant autumn colours of orange and red. Clusters of spidery, copper-orange flowers suffused with red, produced on the bare branches in winter.

Best in moist, fertile, acid to neutral soil in sun or part shade. Dislikes dry soils. Benefits from a site sheltered from strong winds.
Prune if required, by removing dead or unwanted branches in late winter/early spring.
