Vigorous, clump forming, rhizomatous perennial with narrow, erect, keeled leaves. Gladiolus-like, open cup-shaped, pure white flowers on slender stems in autumn. Late flowered but often lasting into early winter.

Moist, well drained, moderately fertile soil in full sun or light shade. Will flower well into winter if kept frost free, under glass.

By division in spring.

Autumn colour for borders. Good cut flower.
