Hortensia variety with large mopheads of usually white flowers. May become bluish or pink tinted on very acid or alkaline soils.

Moist, well drained, reasonably fertile, humus-rich soil. Sun or part shade, preferably with shelter from cold, drying winds. May become chlorotic on very shallow chalky soil. Performs well in seaside locations.
The flower colour is influenced by the soil pH, bluer acid soil, pinker on alkaline ones.
