Pink flowered form. Bushy subshrub with aromatic, narrow pointed leaves and spikes of small flowers in late summer. Evergreen in mild climates.

Well-drained, moderately fertile neutral to alkaline soil. Likes full sun.

Leaves are used as a flavouring and the flowers are edible. An essential oil is made from the leaves and stems, also used for flavouring, in perfumery and aromatherapy. There is a long history of use as a medicinal herb.
Attracts bees and butterflies.
Can be used for low hedging in the herb garden or potager.
