Twining climber with slender woody stems and alternate, ovate dark green leaves. Pendent, bell shaped, fleshy, pink to red flowers produced singly or in twos and threes from summer to autumn.
Needs warm, moist conditions in part shade and humus-rich, neutral to acid, well drained soil. In cool areas it is best grown in a cool greenhouse or conservatory.
