Hardy annual climber. Scented, bright cherry red flowers, held on long, strong stems from early summer.

Fertile, humus-rich, well drained soil in full sun or light dappled shade. Provide suitable support.
Dead-head regularly to prolong flowering.
Can suffer from powdery mildew.

From seed sown in autumn under cover or in mild areas, alternatively in early to mid spring. It helps to soak or chip the seeds first. Germination is normally in 2 weeks.
