Robust bushy evergreen subshrub with aromatic grey-green leaves. Freely produced dark purple flowers with slender, deep burgundy purple bracts on top.
Well drained, fairly poor soil in full sun. Reputed to be exceptionally hardy.
Trim back after flowering.
From cuttings. Half-ripe, heeled cuttings taken in summer are recommended.
Can be used as a culinary herb.
A hybrid of Lavandula stoechas ssp. pedunculata x Lavandula viridis, raised at Marshwood Gardens in New Zealand.
