description:
Small, bushy, suckering evergreen with small glossy dark green leaves which become bronze tinted in winter. Dense terminal corymbs of very small, star-shaped white flowers, opening from pink buds in late spring and early summer.

cultivation:
Moist, well drained, humus rich, acid soil in part or deep shade. Protect from cold drying winds in areas susceptible to hard frosts. May spread widely by suckering.

propagation:
From seed, sown on the surface of the compost in spring. Also by softwood cuttings in early summer or separation and replanting of rooted suckers.

usage:
Woodland gardens, peat bed or shrub border.
