Common wildflower with slender creeping rhizomes and very narrow, hairy, greyish-green leaves, in crowded whorls. From midsummer to autumn produces dense clusters of pale yellow, snapdragon-like flowers with long slender spurs.
Light, well drained, preferably sandy soil, in full sun.
From seed, will usually self seed freely.
Native to much of Europe, including Britain. Commonly found in grasslands, roadsides and wasteland.
