Winter flowering, deciduous or semi-evergreen shrubby honeysuckle. Similar to Lonicera fragrantissima but with bristly stems and elliptic hairy leaves. Small, fragrant, creamy-white, sometimes pink-tinged flowers with conspicuous yellow anthers, produced in pairs along the stems from late autumn to early spring. Red berries follow in June.

Any well-drained, reasonably fertile soil in sun or partial shade.
Prune in late spring.
