Slow growing shrub or small bushy tree. Rosy pink buds open to beautiful delicate pink fluished flowers with numerous tepals, fading to almost pure white with age.
Moist, reasonably fertile, humus-rich soil, preferably acid to neutral. Will thrive in heavy clay and tolerant of atmospheric pollution. Best in a sheltered position in sun or part shade.
If required, prune unwanted or crossing branches when dormant in autumn or late winter to very early spring.
From cuttings. Can be grafted but better grown on its own roots.
May also be grown from seed, but very slow.
