description:
Erect at first, this big and bold evergreen spreads with age. Long cylindrical spikes of tiny, fragrant yellow flowers are borne above divided prickle-toothed leaves in late autumn and winter. Clusters of blue berries follower later.

cultivation:
Tolerant of a wide range of conditions but best in moist, well drained, moderately fertile, humus-rich soil in full or part shade.
If required, trim or cut back after flowering.
