Whorls of bright red flowers with brownish red bracts, from June to September. Aromatic foliage.
Moist, well drained, moderately fertile, humus-rich soil in full sun or very light dappled shade. Ovoid drying out in summer but also dislikes excessive wet in winter.
Mildew resistant variety.
Borders, herb garden.
The leaves can be used to make a pleasant tea.
