Flowers have golden yellow petals and an orange-red cup, produced one per stem in early to mid spring. Narrow, linear to strap-shaped leaves.

Best in moderately fertile, well drained soil, reasonably moist while in growth early in the year but quite dry when dormant in summer. Full sun or part shade.
Plant bulbs at one and half times their own size or a little deeper.
Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering.

Separate and replant bulb offsets.

Excellent cut flower.
