Spring bulb, clusters of several sweetly scented flowers per stem, rich yellow with light orange cups. Vigorous grower with sturdy stems and good erect foliage, naturalises well.
Best in moderately fertile, slightly alkaline, well drained soil. Needs reasonable moisture while in growth early in the year but dormant bulbs will survive drought and hot summers. Sun or part shade.
Plant bulbs at one and half times their own size or a little deeper. Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering.
Separate and replant bulb offsets.
