Spring flowering bulb. Double flowers of rather variable form and colouring, often with small petaloids inside the cup. Shades of yellow and gold, often with green tinging. Robust and hardy grower, essentially a double form of the wild Narcissus pseudonarcissus.
Best in moderately fertile, well drained soil with reasonable moisture while in growth early in the year but quite dry while dormant, when bulbs will survive drought and hot summers. Full sun.
Plant bulbs at one and half times their own size or a little deeper. Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering.
Separate and replant bulb offsets.
Excellent for naturalising
Division 4 - Double
This is a very old form that occurs in various locations in Britain, though now most often commercially produced in Holland.
