description:
Low growing, creeping habit, forming mats of small fleshy green leaves. Small greenish white flowers in June, followed by prolific red-orange berries, sometimes almost covering the plant.

cultivation:
Humus rich, gritty, moist but well drained soil in sun or part shade. Only just frost hard and best grown under glass or as a house plant in cool areas. Prefers temperatures between 14 and 17°C. Needs good light and ventilation when grown as a house plant and reduced watering in winter. Feed when berries are forming, but over-rich conditions promote leaf growth and reduce flowering.
