Erect, branching biennial or short-lived perennial with a rather leggy habit. Small tubular, pink-tinged, white flowers in summer. Very fragrant, particularly in the evening and night-time.
Moist, well drained, fertile soil in sun or part shade. May not survive hard winters, but will often seed itself.
From seed. Often self-seeds freely.
Excellent for evening fragrance. Best planted fairly closely in biggish groups so that the plants support each other.
