Similar to O. japonicus 'Minor' and other dwarf forms, but this is one of the shortest and most compact.
Reasonably tolerant, but prefers moist, well drained, fertile, humus-rich, slightly acid soil. Full sun or part shade. Benefits from a top dressing of leaf-mould in autumn.
