description:
Clump forming herbaceous perennial with divided dark green foliage, glaucous on the undersides. Bowl-shaped single, deep magenta pink flowers, about 10cm across, with a conspicuous central mass of yellow stamens.

cultivation:
Moist to dryish, well drained, deep, fertile soil in full sun or dappled part shade. Likes a fairly warm position and can tolerate some drought.

Native to Portugal and Southern Spain, usually found in open woodlands.
