Subshrub with upright grey-white stems of deeply divided silvery blue-grey leaves. Spikes of small electric violet-blue flowers are abundantly borne in late summer and early autumn.
Thrives in hot, dry positions and poor soil. Tolerates chalky soils and coastal conditions.
Cut back in early spring to encourge new growth.
Good plant for dry sunny gardens and also very effective for some landscaping applications, tolerating difficult conditions such as drought and salt, as found near roadsides etc.
