description:
Evergreen perennial grown for their bold sword-like leaves of varying colours. This cultivar has yellow and green striped leaves, edged with pink or brownish-red. The yellow colouring tends to darken with age to apricot-orange. Orangey-red tubular clusters borne of tall sturdy, purplish-brown stems in summer. Much smaller growing than the species.

cultivation:
Moist, well drained, fertile soil in full sun or light shade. Established plants will tolerate dry conditions. Best in mild locations or a sheltered position but grow well in coastal areas.
