Evergreen perennial grown for their bold sword-like leaves of varying colours. This cultivar has yellow and green striped leaves, edged with pink or brownish-red. The yellow colouring tends to darken with age to apricot-orange. Orangey-red tubular clusters borne of tall sturdy, purplish-brown stems in summer. Much smaller growing than the species.

Moist, well drained, fertile soil in full sun or light shade. Established plants will tolerate dry conditions. Best in mild locations or a sheltered position but grow well in coastal areas.
