description:
Arching leaves of very dark purplish-brown, appearing almost black sometimes with faint paler margins. Reddish-brown flowers with yellow lips, carried on black stalks, followed by yellow fruits. Compact habit.

cultivation:
Moist, well drained, fertile soil in full sun or light shade. Established plants will tolerate dry conditions. Best in mild locations or a sheltered position but grow well in coastal areas.
