description:
Graceful, tall bamboo, spreading by underground runners. Sturdy, slightly arching canes up to 5cm thick, powdery green when young, ageing to deep green then bluish green. Lush green foliage, leaves are bluish-green underneath.

cultivation:
Moist, humus-rich soil in sun or part shade. Tolerate quite deep shade and e grows well in damp places. Very hardy.
Thin stems as required. May run fairly extensively, so needs lots of space, but only regarded as invasive in mild climates.

propagation:
By division.
