Small evergreen shrub making a compact, dense mound of glossy dark green foliage. Tight, upright panicles of pure snow white flowers in March.
Moist, well-drained, humus rich, acidic soil in partial shade. Sheltered, woodland type conditions are ideal. Will tolerate full sun if not too hot.
Selected by Del Brown of Marysville, Washington, from seed collected on Yakushima Island, Japan and introduced by the Briggs Nursery. Probably a hybrid of P. japonica x P. floribunda.
