The leaves are about twice the size of P. tenuifolium.
Well drained soil in a sunny position. Dislikes heavy wet soil and cold winds. Somewhat tender, though reputedly hardier than the species. Best given a sheltered position with some protection from severe frosts unless grown in a mild climate.
Can be trimmed or pruned to maintan size and shape.
From cuttings, half-ripe in summer or hardwood in late autumn.
Can be used for hedging in mild locations.
