description:
Dwarf form with a dense rounded habit. The green young leaves mature to reddish-purple, the colour being deeper and redder than 'Purpureum'.

cultivation:
Well drained soil in a sunny position. Dislikes wet soil and cold winds, so best given some protection unless grown in a mild climate. May make new growth if cut back by frost.

usage:
Can be used for hedging in mild locations.
