Ground-hugging, densely mat-forming perennial with small rounded leaves and small, star-shaped, blue flowers on short stalks during summer.
Deeper blue but possibly not as free flowering as the species.
Moist, well drained, fertile loamy soil in sun or part shade. Needs a mild climate to overwinter.
Can sometimes become invasive, but not usually problematic.
By division of rooted sections, easy.
Ground cover, damp rock gardens. May be used between paving and will withstand light foot traffic.
