Bright magenta pink flowers white white centres, on long stems in late spring or early summer. Light apple green, toothed leaves. Spreads slowly to form a mat of foliage. Dormant in hot dry summers.
Moist to wet, humus rich, neutral to acid soil in sun or part shade.
Named varieties must be propagated by root cuttings, otherwise from seed.
Bog gardens, damp borders.
