description:
Large erect shrub. Narrow oblong, up-curving, bright or blueish green leaves up to about 15cm long. Large flowers varying from pale creamy pink to deep pink, with black or brown "beards" at the tips of the bracts. Main flowering period is during summer but mature plants may produce flowers sporadically throughout the year.

cultivation:
Notably adaptable to varying soil conditions and easy to grow. Best in well drained, neutral to acid soil and a sunny position.
