Very free flowering in a mixture of colours including pink, violet-blue and white, produced in densely whorled spikes over a long period.. Vigorous spreading perennial with ovate to lance-shapes, sparsely-toothed, deep green leaves.
Most soils in sun or part shade. Strong growing and should be positioned where they will not crowd out smaller neighbouring plants.
By division. Available from seed, will normally flower in the first year.
Useful ground cover, especially on banks, awkward borders or wild gardens.
Attractive to bees and other insects.
